Fixation Effect of Modified Bamboo Charcoal on Typical Heavy Metals in Sediment

چکیده

In this study, we studied the influence of dosage modified bamboo charcoal (KAM-500-400-3) on fixation effect single Cu(II)-contaminated and mixed Cu(II)–Cd(II)-contaminated sediment. The results showed that it could effectively fix heavy metals in both sediment types. sediment, when amount added KAM500-400-3 was greater than or equal to 5%, Cu(II) content overlying pore water substantially reduced, form metal changed from acid-extractable state a relatively stable, reducible, oxidizable, residual state, its bioavailability markedly toxic leaching TCLP also gradually reduced. polluted by Cu(II)–Cd(II), Cd(II) not be detected addition 2.5%. contents considerably decreased they transformed into other forms with low bioavailability, which oxidizable so lower detection limit. toxicity leached decreased. This adding helps inhibiting release contaminated bodies, is material can adsorb

Effect of Bottom Sediment on Content, Bioaccumulation and Translocation of Heavy Metals in Maize Biomass

The research aimed to assess the effect of bottom sediment on the content, bioaccumulation and translocation of heavy metals in maize biomass. The investigations were conducted in 2006-2007 as a pot experiment on light soil of the granulometric composition of weakly-loamy sand. The experimental design comprised 3 treatments: without sediment (I), a 5% sediment admixture (II) and a 10% sediment ...

Removal of Heavy Metals from Wastewater Using Cow Bone Charcoal

Bone charcoal, a mixed adsorbent containing around 10% carbon and 90% calcium phosphate, is mainly produced by thermal treatment of bones. Structurally, calcium phosphate in bone charcoal is in the hydroxyapatite form [1-2]. Traditionally, bone charcoal has been used to remove color in sugar solutions in the sugar refining industry. Recent studies use bone charcoal to adsorb radioisotopes of an...

Effects of manufacturing conditions on the adsorption capacity of heavy metal ions by Makino bamboo charcoal.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of manufacturing conditions on the adsorption capacity of heavy metal ions by Makino bamboo charcoal. Results show that the specific surface area and iodine number of bamboo charcoal activated at 900 degrees C were larger than those of bamboo charcoal activated at 800 degrees C. The specific surface area of bamboo charcoal activated at ...
